Introducing Our New Regional Manager for Victoria

April 30, 2017 (Melbourne, Australia) – The SikhHelpline Australia is excited to announce that Preeti Chhatwal has joined our team as Regional Manager for Victoria.  Preeti has been a valuable contributor to the SikhHelpline since inception by providing support to clients in a volunteer capacity. As the first staff of SikhHelpline and Regional Manager of Victoria, Preeti will bring her humble approach, talent and invaluable perspectives to the work and the long-term mission of the organization.

Preeti Chhatwal is a practicing counsellor and is actively engages in the community work while facilitating courses for AIPC and Estrada College. Preeti has obtained her counselling qualifications from Australian Institute of Professional counsellors with Majors in Parenting and Child Development, Family Therapy and Relationship Counselling. Preeti is presently doing Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Monash University.

Preeti is proficient in four languages –English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu while been adept in multicultural issues.  Having worked closely with the migrant class, Preeti has a deeper understanding of the issues and concerns the migrant class encounters. She has worked closely with skilled migrants and has effectively guided people towards their career goals. Preeti has experience in PND, Anxiety, Mental Health, Relationship, Grief, Domestic Violence, Parenting and Career Counselling. Preeti’s approach is essentially eclectic and she works on modalities that suit client’s needs.

While it is never easy to find a person to fit this type of important role, there could be no better person to take up this challenge than Preeti,” said  Director, Jashanpreet Singh. “Over the next few weeks, Preeti will reach out to Team members in Melbourne to strengthen the support services and establish a network with Gurudwaras and other organisations working in the area.
